Rs 50 – S Jagannathan
The Rs 50 note was first Introduced in 1975 and had the Parliament building on its back as the design. All other elements of the design remained similar to other denomination, i.e. Ashoka Emblem as water mark as well on the right side. There was one error in the design, the Parliament building has the National Flag. Some plates missed the flag. This error was noticed quite late after quite a few thousands were printed. Vide a clarification RBI mentioned all these are valid notes. As the plates were expensive to make, these were continued for usage and even had signatures of IJ Patel, M Narasimhan. It was only during Manmohan Singh that all the pates got corrected and this error in design was rectified.
